Greetings to you all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,
Ezekiel 33:5-6 says, “He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.”
Some time back, we had a small fire in one of the rooms that required us to evacuate to the living room while firemen took care of a ceiling exhaust fan that had been left on and caught fire. The nurses did an excellent job getting everyone awake and to the appointed places. Within an hour or so, we were all back in our rooms and noticed that a name was missing from the room across the hall. It turns out that she died a couple of days before. I would have prayer with the lady at times as I do with many here at the facility. A few months before that experience, I was investigating another facility in hopes of a better lifestyle than here. The recent death of the lady who was only 58, was one of three that we had in this wing. I decided at that point that a better lifestyle somewhere else wasn’t worth it and that God doesn’t make mistakes, so we should be where we are at, with smaller, less amenities, but people that need to hear the gospel message.
The above passage is about the watchman who is to sound the alarm should an enemy be coming. If the watchman sees the attackers coming and fails to blow the trumpet, thus sounding the alarm, then the guilt will be upon the watchman. Most believers in the world today have a pretty good understanding of hell, its future inhabitants, what it is like and also what will never be there. Now, if we know what hell is like, it would seem that we would want to keep people from going there. We are the watchman with the trumpet in our hand and it is the Word of God and the Gospel message of salvation. Every human being that we know an meet, our neighbors, our business associates, our friends, our family and even those in church, need to have that personal relationship with Christ because when they die, they are going to spend eternity somewhere and there are only two choices. You will either go to heaven or hell. If you go to hell, you will experience the Great White Throne judgment and be judged by your works as written in the “books.” If your name is not in the Lamb’s Book of Life, you will spend eternity in hell. It is plain and simple. Now, you have the trumpet and need to be warning people of the consequences of putting off a decision for Christ. What will you do? Praise God that He has given to us ample warning of what is to come. May we really take it seriously.
