The Soldier and the Bee

Since man has been created, he has set out to develop all kinds of methods whereby he can inflict injury upon his fellow man.  We are currently living in what is know as the nuclear age as far as war is concerned.  We can blow up many square miles with one bomb and leave it desolate with radio active garbage that makes the land uninhabitable.  Yet, there is one thing that is very small and can cause much hurt.  You may be driving along in your car and suddenly realize that there is a bee inside the car with you.  Even those who are not allergic to bee stings do not like to spend any amount of time inside a closed area with this small creature.  I am always glad that I have electric windows and can roll them all down quickly as I look for a place to exit and get out of the car.  One small bee can cause a lot of problems.  It is interesting to note that God used the hornet to help drive out the gentiles that had possessed the land prior to the arrival of the Israelites.   Exodus 23:28 says,  "And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee."
When a bee gets inside of a soldier's armor there is a lot of worry and concern on the part of the soldier and he cannot fight the way that he should until the bee is gone.  A large army could stand and fight for a long time but when confronted with an onslaught of hornets, they will turn and run.  Such is the case even today.  God's creatures can be used to deter an enemy.  From all of this, we can learn that God has His methods for dealing with certain issues.  We may be expecting the profound things to be happening to us, but God will work using all kinds of different methods.  Who would have thought to be prepared to drive off a swarm of hornets?  We can often pray for things to happen and then wonder how God could possibly make it so.  It is for us just to sit back and watch Him work.  Any number of things might be used in order to answer your prayers and it is often quite amazing when His methods become known to us.  So, praise God today for His working in our lives.  He might even put a bee in your bonnet to get you moving in the direction that He wants you to go.
