Getting Rid of the Load

There was a company that I worked for that gave out a lot of instructional courses.  Since "falls" are one of the things that happens regularly, we had a video course on falling and how to prevent it from happening.  It also had a section that was written in case you are actually falling.  It listed the steps that you should quickly take.  I have had a couple of falls in the last 10 years and there has not been one fall in which I could accomplish the list of things that was mentioned in that course.  There was one thing that was mentioned which said, "Get rid of the load."  If you were carrying something and began to fall, you are to simply toss your load to the side and then proceed with the other steps to take while falling.  I guess I would get an "F" if I was being graded on how to fall.  I do find it interesting that "getting rid of the load" is one of those things that is important.  It is spiritual meaning also.  First Peter 5:7 says, "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
The problems of life certainly are a load in anyone's situation.  There is that point when something takes place in our life that we must decide to get rid of it or not.  If we don't choose to get rid of it, the result is a lot of unnecessary worrying.  You may have already experienced what happens when you worry.  Worry may cause you to lose sleep, have different eating habits, produce unwanted stress, affect relationships at both home and at work.   Then, each one of those results will have their own trail of troubles that follow.  Peter simply gives us eleven words, in the KJV, which will help us to "get rid of the load."  Oh, you cast it aside all right, you cast it at the foot of the cross.  There is a cartoon version of "Pilgrim's Progess" that shows "Christian" walking around with a large load on his back.  When he gets to the cross, he looks, up at Christ on the cross and the load rolls off of his back and lands at the entrance of the empty and open tomb.  No matter how large or how small your load is, you need to get rid of it and you get rid of it by casting it all on Him and the Him, is the Lord Jesus Christ.  Praise God today that He takes all of your cares and takes care of each and every one of them.
