Greetings to you all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,
Hebrews 13:5 says, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
In writing these devotions, the original intent was just via email when they began back in 1999. After i got involved with the social media platform, I decided to put them out there also and to put them on a “blog” which no one seems to ever go to but they are there, “just in case.” While on Facebook yesterday, I discovered a post that had been put there by one of my “friends.” It was a post that was copied from somewhere else, but was indeed very sad in that the person was saying they had no friends, were completely alone and who had been hurt time and time again and again. The last statement was, “I am my own best friend.” The same person professes to be a Christian but they apparently do not believe the Bible.
One of the most familiar Bible verses in John 3:16 which states that if a person believes in the Son of God, that person will have eternal, or everlasting, life. Couple this thought with the above passage and other passages that speak about eternal life and you should soon get the picture that the believer in God is NEVER alone! You may feel that you are alone, but we should never trust our “feelings” anyway . Feeling alone and thinking you are alone are all false beliefs for the true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. In Philippians 1:6 we are reminded that God will complete the work that He has begun in our lives. John proclaims that our joy will be full in Christ. John also stated that He is making a place for us and will return for us that we will be with Him, not only now, but throughout all eternity. What the person is really saying is that they don’t know God at all and they are insulting God’s ability to do anything in their life or the lives of others. I will rather stand on the promises of God than my own feelings or the thoughts of others. The real problem is that many people are not reading the Bible and henceforth have no understanding of what it means. They may say to themselves that they will all see their loved ones in heaven but have no idea how to get to heaven in the first place. It was humorous to notice that the post that was claiming to be in loneliness was between two posts praising God for the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Because Christ was raised from the dead, I am never alone and neither is any child of God. Praise God today for His promises.
